Brief Behavioural Activation
Oshn is based on Brief Behavioural Activation supporting young people aged 11+ to self-manage low mood, boost motivation, and build resilience through real-world actions and connection.
Behavioural Activation (BA), a CBT-based therapy for depression, recommended by NICE, that breaks the cycle of low mood by helping people gradually increase engagement in rewarding, meaningful activities they've stopped doing, even without motivation ("action before motivation"). It's a structured, goal-focused technique involving identifying enjoyable activities, scheduling them, and tracking progress.
Brief BA is a shorter version of BA, adapted to support young people in a shorter timeframe.
